Primal Equine Services – Natural Hoof Care & Equine Hanna Somatics in Costa del Sol

Primal Equine Services is an equine care service based in Mijas, Málaga, specialising in natural barefoot hoof trimming and Equine Hanna Somatics (EHS). With a horse-centred approach, the service focuses on hoof balance, comfort, natural movement and the individual needs of each horse.

Natural Barefoot Hoof Trimming

Primal Equine Services offers barefoot hoof trimming tailored to each horse's conformation, hoof condition, lifestyle and environment.

Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, hoof care considers the individual horse and the importance of maintaining balanced, functional hooves.

Regular barefoot trimming can form part of a long-term hoof maintenance programme, with attention to hoof growth, wear, balance and overall comfort.

The service also emphasises helping owners better understand their horses' hooves and the factors that influence hoof health.

Equine Hanna Somatics (EHS)

In addition to hoof care, Primal Equine Services offers Equine Hanna Somatics (EHS) sessions.

EHS is a gentle, movement-based approach that focuses on muscular awareness, relaxation and comfortable movement. Sessions are adapted to the individual horse and aim to encourage greater body awareness and ease of movement.

This approach complements the service's broader philosophy of respecting the horse's physical and emotional well-being.

Individualised, Horse-Centred Care

Primal Equine Services recognises that every horse has different needs. Hoof condition, movement patterns, management practices and environment can all influence an individual care plan.

The service places importance on patient handling, observation and working collaboratively with horse owners.

Based in Mijas, Málaga, Primal Equine Services supports owners interested in natural hoof care, barefoot management and gentle equine bodywork.
